Pollerton Sunset - Carlow

Posted on | August 31, 2008 | 2 Comments

One evening, the sunset over Carlow Town from Pollerton was stunning - so yellow. I had to get the camera out.

Even land dug up waiting for development looks good in the evening sun, the pool of water from uneven ground looks like a lake, the accumulation of weeds and waste stone, like a stony shore. This piece of land is opposite the building site for the new supervalu store to be opening there soon.

New Website

The new website was completed in August 2008. It will be an ongoing project over the next while, as I add in new features and start to regularily post to the site. Purple Flower - Crocus

Purple Flower

A purple flower photgraphed at close range.  Flowers and their colours are fascinating.  When a flower is lit be sunlight, the colours seem to sing.  This purple flower bloomed in early spring in my front garden.  The photograph was taken in March 2006.  The image was cropped to a square shape, to bring out the drama of the contrasting colours of orange and purple.
This photograph is blogged from my flickr photo stream.

Watching the Grass Grow

Posted on | July 21, 2008 | No Comments

We have just recently replanted the field (I mean lawn) in our back garden…no easy feat what so ever. Of course, I only did some of the work, part of my labour was contributing to the design. Slabs were put down….slopes reshaped and loads of seed was sown.

Such was the great weather - sun and heat, that the grass started to show earlier than we had thought. We did actually lie down and watch the grass grow - it was great, highly recommended!!
