Website Designed for The IASPES - The Edith Stein Circle

The website for the IASPES – The Edith Stein Circle website has just been launched – 29th January 2010.  The website is a new website for the newly set up International Association for the Study of the Philosophy of Edith Stein.  The website has a custom design and has  a CMS (Content Management System) for updating the website.

Website Features

Several features have been built for this website – a custom calendar page to announce events, an online donation form and online sign up for membership form accepting payments via paypal, as well as a customised email newsletter solution with sign up form on website.

Tasks involved in building this website

  • Make a vector version of hand drawn logo
  • Style Heading Text to act as a logo
  • Custom Design of website using the colours of deep blue, white and lemon and ochre and left side navigation
  • Create a unique theme for the CMS wordpress.  One main layout was created
  • Assist in setting up a merchant paypal account to take donation and membership payments
  • Add particular extra functions to the CMS – a calendar events solution, signup for newsletter, paypal online donation form, paypal online membership payment form, incorporate a page sub menu that only appears on parent page.  Special custom layout for the membership and committee page, with custom image size on upload
  • Build the pages and subpages of the website.
  • Arrange domain name and hosting
  • Build newsletter solution with campaign monitor

I worked closely with Haydn – the webmaster for this website, a philosophy scholar.  Haydn now manages the website brilliantly – all the elements from content to newsletter.
