VOPAM – Virtual Office Professional Administration Managment employed me as web designer to set up a website for this new business start by Patricia. I designed the logo and adapted a template to build an easy to update website using wordpress as a content managment system.
As this is a new business start, Patricia has set up a survey. If you have time, please do fill out the survey.

Logo Design
The logo was designed in consultations with Patricia. I dont normally design logos, but have done a few recently alongside website design. I prefer not to, as its a different skill set to web design but I decided to help trisha out when she explained that anything I did would be a lot better than her own attempts. However, her rough sketch that she took with her mobile and emailed to me was a really clear blueprint for me to get working on it – I just implemented Patricia’s ideas to look neat and smooth!!!

Website Design
The website was developed in wordpress, which is becoming a really useful content management system and blogging platform – absolutely ideal for people and businesses who want to update content themselves, which was one of Patricia’s main requirements. However as this was a business start up after a redundancy, cost was a very big factor for her, money was really tight and her budget was low. I suggested to check out wordpress theme templates from themeforest and if she purchased one, I could install it for her and make some small changes, such as add in her logo, details, changes some text styling etc. Patricia picked a template she liked, purchased it and sent me the log in details. I was able to download the template and go about installing it and adapting if for VOPAM’s needs.
A domain and hosting package was purchased with blacknight.ie, wordpress installed, the adapted wordpress theme template installed. All that had to be done was build pages, make some small changes, build contact form and insert content. The total production time for this was approx 3 1/2 days (28hours). The site took a week to set up and build in total. If patricia had got me to create a unique and custom design, I would have needed to design that, then code it, this would add on at least another 35 hours to the production time. By her purchase of the template and getting a web designer such as myself to implement it, it cut time and therefore cut costs.
